One of the most popular guitars in the world (not to say THE most popular), the Fender Stratocaster is characterized by its instantly recognizable design and a clear, defined tone. It sits in the pantheon of legendary guitars which have largely contributed to the development of Western popular music for over 60 years.

When we talk about the Stratocaster, we would almost be entitled to ask the question: should it really be presented again?

History

The Fender Stratocaster was born in 1954, bringing a unique design to the world of electric guitars. Succeeding its big sister the Telecaster, the "Strat" is the first guitar to offer three pickups on an elegant and curved body, with easy access to the highest frets. Its name pays homage to the space conquests that have marked these decades, and through the generations the Stratocaster has inspired millions of guitarists around the world.

Specifications / Construction

The iconic solid bodies of modern Stratocasters are crafted from the same woods since their first creation: primarily alder or ash. The body shape was thought to be a direct improvement on that of previous guitars, with a curved outline and thin thickness, allowing the player to hold their guitar closer to them and easily access the higher frets. If the making of the Fender Stratocaster could be summed up in two words, it would undoubtedly be elegance and comfort.

Sound

The Strat's three single-coil pickups give it a wide variety of tones, ranging from a crisp, clear tone to a dark, mellow tone. Its five-position selector allows you to bring out the full sonic potential of the guitar, with one position for each microphone, and two intermediate positions. This is one of the reasons why the Stratocaster is so popular: its versatility gives it a place in pole position in almost all styles of Western music, and has been for almost 7 decades. Traditionally the Strats incorporate three single coil pickups, but over time a few variations have emerged: with a bridge humbucker for example, for a thicker sound.

Usage

It is enough to document the guitars used by the greatest guitarists to quickly realize that a Fender Stratocaster is suitable for all styles of music incorporating a guitar. From the blues of Eric Clapton to the rock of Jimmy Hendrix, passing by the melodious heavy metal of Iron Maiden, the Strat responds with force and stands out as a reliable choice for guitarists of all levels.
