The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum is made from high quality stainless steel.
It has a central bass tone in the middle, which is surrounded by eight other tones. These eight sound fields each consist of two reeds that reproduce the tone over two octaves.
This creates a wonderful, meditative sound that resembles that of a handpan.
The soundhole is located on the underside of the drum and can be closed with a silicone stopper to make the sound even more compact. There are also three silicone feet on the underside to prevent the drum from slipping. You can play the Octave Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or with your fingers if you prefer. Simply place the drum on a flat surface or in your lap to start playing.
Included are two wooden mallets with rubber heads and a nice carrying bag with a zipper and a handle.
