The role of FatCab? To reproduce the sound of the AMP1 in the most faithful way possible, with low, thickness, a spatialized sound, all for a minimum bulk. Let's be clear, nowadays, there are not many people who can use 4 pairs of 4x12s on stage, it would be rather the opposite. The question then arises, what are the needs of today's professional guitarists? Well, quite simply a portable system which restores the density and richness of the best cabinets, while maintaining a "human" sound volume. Nowadays, all stages are equipped with massive PA systems where it is then the sound recording that is essential and, of course, the qualities of the cabinet that is transplanted.
After many tests, Thomas Blug, who is a big fan of sounds that could be described as '' vintage '' (70's / 80's), decided to develop his own speakers to achieve his goal: to design a 112 cabinet with a voicing taking the best of the Greenback and the V30 while avoiding the problems of the 112 cabinets. The problem with the Greenback is its 25W that it can handle to the maximum. Not enough for a 112 cabinet and a head capable of delivering + 50W. The concern of V30s and other current HPs is their stiffness compared to the equivalents manufactured several 10 years ago. Thomas has therefore developed a speaker capable of reproducing a low equivalent to that of a good V30 and the mids so characteristic of the Greenback, all with more power and within a priority cabinet that delivers a 3D sound, with low , diffusion and without the '' boomy '' side of many cabinets of the genre. Oh ... the icing on the cake, you can connect two cabinets to each other in series or parallel!
