Motion Control motor

The Motion Control Syntheses engine unifies and controls two iconic sound engines: the AWM2 (High Quality Signals and Subtractive Synthesis) and the FM-X (Pure and Modern Frequency Modulation). These two motors can be controlled freely through eight parts of a Yamaha Montage. Interact with the MONTAGE Performances using Motion Control: a programmable matrix controller that allows you to create deep, dynamic, highly expressive and original sounds.

Improved dynamic control

The MONTAGE series brings a new level of expressiveness with Motion Control Synthesis technology. This system will guide your creativity and make you find your own unique sound, with many opportunities for interaction.

Super Knob

The Super Knob control allows you to control one or more parameters at the same time, allowing you to manipulate the sound in a single movement and in an innovative way. The Super Knob can be assigned to an FC7 pedal, making it easier to manipulate the sound while freeing up both hands for playing.

Motion Sequences and Folower Envelope

Motion SEQs allow you to synchronize the tempo with a performance. Fully customizable at the controls and assignable to a wide range of parameters, they offer creative new ways to program your sounds.
The Envelope Follower converts an audio signal into a control signal, assignable to MONTAGE parameters. A drum loop can control its own parameters rhythmically, or a recorder can control several parameters so that the synthesizer can "talk". With the Audio Beat Sync function, the MONTAGE can synchronize to an external signal, such as a sound source from a drum kit.
