A new classic

The SYSTEM-8 is the direct product of four decades of synthesizer development at Roland. It faithfully reproduces the sound and behavior of the most sought-after classic synths, such as the JUPITER-8, the JUNO-106 or the JX-3P, while bringing many new features.

The Roland SYSTEM 8 allows you to mix with vintage oscillators and filter them with multiple dedicated effects, then split or layer them to create never-before-heard sounds. With the built-in polyphonic sequencer and motion recording, you can shape every detail with a wide range of high-resolution controls to bring all your musical ideas to life.

Beyond vintage

The SYSTEM-8 architecture draws on Roland's rich research and development history, including authentic models of classic oscillators, with their filters and effects. There is an on-board reproduction of the circuits of the JUPITER-8, JUNO-106 and JX-3P, without forgetting the world of legendary synths available on Roland Cloud.

Yet the SYSTEM-8 goes beyond its vintage characteristics. It has a set of digital and analog oscillators: sawtooth, square, triangle, SuperSaw, FM, and other unique waveforms.

PLUG-OUT extension

The SYSTEM-8 has 3 expansion ports for driving and controlling PLUG-OUT synths: complete and authentic Roland classics that can be changed at any time. It is possible to combine the native synth engines with any PLUG-OUT synth to create fully customized patches. The collection of PLUG-OUT instruments is constantly expanding, and its synths can be used as a DAW plug-in, controllable from the SYSTEM-8 panel.
