The Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut is the direct heir to a model introduced in 1955 as an evolution of the Les Paul Junior, enriching the original concept with greater versatility while retaining a simple, efficient approach.
As early as 1958, the adoption of the double cutaway allowed significantly improved access to the high registers, helping to make it an instrument prized by professionals and Gibson sound purists alike.
This modern version remains faithful to the original spirit. Its solid double-cut mahogany body offers excellent balance and remarkable sustain. The mahogany neck with SlimTaper profile ensures immediate comfort and a fast-playing feel, while the rosewood Fingerboard with purfling and dot inlays guarantees precision and elegance.
The electronics are based on two Gibson P-90 Soapbar pickups, renowned for their direct character, rich midrange grain and exceptional dynamics. Each pickup has its own volume and tone controls, hand-wired with Orange Drop capacitors, enabling a broad spectrum of sound to be covered, from Brilliant clean to rough, expressive saturation.
The Wraparound bridge, anchored directly in the body, maximizes vibration transmission and contributes to the instrument's immediate response. Gibson Vintage Deluxe Tuners, combined with a Graph Tech Nut, ensure stability and tuning precision. The iconic TV Yellow finish reinforces its timeless visual identity.
