When Günter Henle founded his Urtextverlag in 1948, he opened the catalog with the two-volume edition of Mozart's 18 piano sonatas (HN 1 and HN 2).
These sonatas continue to be part of the basic repertoire of all pianists.
Both volumes have been revised several times over the decades, so that the G. Henle Verlag always provides the musical text on the current state of research. The latest update is for KV 331 ('' Alla turca '', vol. II) and dates from 2015. The foreword and critical editor's report provide detailed information on all sources and issues of text. HN 1 and HN 2 contain fingerings. Both volumes are now also available without fingering - for all pianists who wish to develop their own access to Mozart's piano cosmos.
