The specialist's opinion
With the reimagined Martin Standard Series, Martin sets new standards in 2025 - subtle yet powerful, for players who expect nothing less than perfection.
The new Golden Era (GE) Sitka spruce top bracing brings to life a sound that breathes, resonates and fills the room with warmth and depth.
Inspired by the renowned Modern Deluxe Series, this innovation offers enhanced sustain and unrivalled vintage character - perfect for musicians who seek magic in every note.
The oval, low neck profile, modified by GE, combines timeless elegance with modern playing comfort. The thinner Fingerboard with slightly beveled edges and optimized string spacing make long sessions a pleasure. The new GE-Modern-Belly bridge with smooth, comfortable edges is the perfect detail for your hands.
In 1929, Perry Bechtel, a young band leader and guitarist, approached C.F. Martin to create a Flattop guitar with a 000 shape but a longer, narrower neck with 14th fret joint. C.F. Martin delivered it, and at the same time created the first Orchestra model. The OM shape was very popular with fingerpickers and available only on order for decades, before finally becoming a standard C.F. Martin model in the 1990s. Today, it is the second most copied C.F. Martin shape. The soundboard is spruce with wide Herringbone inlay all around, the back and sides Indian rosewood. The L. R. Baggs Anthem amplification system is a combination of a piezo pickup and a pickup placed inside the guitar, under the bridge, giving this guitar a natural sound.
