Duet + model, Intermediate series Bb clarinet, 65mm barrel, grenadilla barrel, ABS resin upper barrel bore, silver plated nickel silver keying.
By significantly improving the precision and stability of the bore, Yamaha has succeeded in creating clarinets with a clear tone and perfect intonation. To overcome the various quality problems inherent in woodwind instruments, the Duet + models use innovative techniques that form a protective layer of the bore. The combination of a precious wood and a high-end resin does not only represent a '' duo '' between tradition and technology. It's a "Plus" advantage!
This innovative technology, used for the first time on our oboes, has been incorporated on our intermediate clarinets. The bore and the chimneys of the upper body are drilled wide enough to be able to inject ABS resin, thus instantly forming the bore of the clarinet. This process makes it possible to preserve 90% of the wooden part constituting the upper body and its natural exterior appearance of wood.
