The Epoch Pre was designed after the preamp circuitry of the original EchoPlex EP-3, from the 22 volt power supply to the preamp to JFET, to the echo function.
Not only does it provide a boost but it acts as a mastering plug-in on the master slider, making your entire pedalboard sound bigger, fuller and wider.
The Epoch Pre can handle all frequencies without overwriting them like a compressor.
