The 10 Ton Hammer is targeted at 80's metal while providing a lot of versatility.
This pedal has a very high gain circuit, so if you are already using a high gain amplifier, you will have white noise .
.. and isn't that the point of the game with high gain. It is therefore preferable to play through a clean amp such as a Fender type circuit. In any case, this pedal can go from a very pleasant and sweet OD sound to an overwhelming metal sound! Adjust the bass and treble settings to get THE sound.
