With the Helix Stadium XL, Line 6 redefines its flagship modeling system.
This system is no longer a simple amp substitute with effects, but a true creative control center for stage and studio.
The first version available, the Helix XL features OLED strips above the footswitches and an integrated expression pedal. Featuring a central, high-resolution 8" touchscreen, the interface is more reminiscent of a digital audio workstation (DAW) than an effects processor. It can display up to 48 effects. And that's no accident, as features such as the new Matrix Cue mixing console or the integrated Showcase automation and playback engine are designed to make Helix Stadium the cornerstone of complete stage setups.
At the heart of the new system is the Agoura modeling architecture. According to Line 6, it enables "ultra-authentic" amp reconstitutions as well as deliberately idealized versions, both of which can be harmoniously combined via a single control. The Helix Stadium XL thus enjoys creative freedom far beyond the scope of conventional amp models. Sixteen Amplifier models are available from launch, including emulations of the Twin Reverb, Princeton, JCM800 and Hiwatt.
Software features such as audio examples associated with presets have also been integrated. This allows sounds to be previewed directly on the device: a clever solution, especially for more complex setups. The Helix Stadium XL also acts as an 8-channel audio interface, making it suitable for home recording setups or mobile productions. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and SD Card port are also present.
