The wood selected for the Soundboard is Spruce from the high mountains of Val di Fiemme in the Dolomites, Italy. Grown on slopes and dried for a very long time with controlled humidity, the wood is simply extraordinary and brings an exquisite, unrivalled sound.

The Hammerheads are made from Walnut wood for a colorful, voluminous, clear and precise sound. The Felt used is New Zealand Sheep's wool, processed in Germany according to a secret traditional recipe.
C. Bechstein is the only European Grand and upright piano manufacturer to have the know-how to manufacture this important element of Upright piano production in-house.
