A new era in the production of Meinl cymbals.

Meinl cymbals made in Germany according to the "CAST BRONZE" method.

One of the most important foundries in the world melts special Meinl bronze alloys and supplies ready-to-roll blanks for further processing at the Meinl Cymbals forge. The pools of the traditional BYZANCE series are however produced using the "CAST CYMBAL" method, each "individual" pool is cast as a single blank. This is the essential difference in the realization of the new BYZANCE swimming pool. A completely rebuilt Meinl production plant in Turkey exclusively manufactures BYZANCE Meinl cymbals. Here, the traditional Turkish Beck forge blends in perfect harmony with the high-tech experience and know-how of a leading swimming pool manufacturer. BYZANCE cymbals are made from the first to the last step, entirely by hand. The starting material is for the first time in a Meinl Cymbalbronze the composition 80% copper + 20% tin. The manufacturing process begins with the melting of the raw materials, followed by the molding of the individual blanks. These blanks are again heated in several stages and rolled into flat discs. In the hot process, the pelvic ridge is pushed out. By hand, the pelvis is hammered and painstakingly defined to deliver an independent and individual sound. The pools are now manually turned off and get their tonal focus. All BYZANCE pools are now imported into Germany in the Meinl Cymbals forge. Here they are received in a special high-tech operation, with their typical surface finish.
