The specialist's opinion
The Lakland 44-01 bass features the characteristic design of the 44 series as well as a powerful active / passive electronics consisting of an MM type microphone and a JB type.
The Humbucker pickup offers three coil possibilities (Double Series, Single Coil, Double Parallel) and the three-band preamp (Greve, Medium, Treble) can be deactivated with a Push / Pull on the volume knob.
The LH3 pickups (coiled in the Chicago workshop) and the onboard preamp are the same components as the legendary USA Series 44-94. The LH3 pickups are powered by a 9 volt battery. Internal dip-switches allow you to select the frequency of amplification and cut-off of the mediums. The neck has the same scale, profile and specifications as the USA 44-94 series which has won over legions of professionals due to its excellent feel and string spacing.
