The specialist's opinion
First introduced in 1976, the StingRay has been revered as one of the most iconic bass guitars in history.
This model was the first Series four-string bass to feature active EQ.
Music Man's flagship, today's StingRay Special is the same as it was some forty years ago, and therefore benefits from serious workmanship, a high-mass steel bridge, a roasted maple neck, lightweight tuners and the famous Music Man humbucking pickup (shown here in the HH double humbucker version with coil selector). All these elements combine to give you a look, feel and sound that's remarkably unique.
