The specialist's opinion

During the 1960s and 1970s, the original tube 4X10 Tweed Bassman was very popular among rock, country and blues guitarists as a reliable amplifier, producing excellent sound and easy to use .

Specification

In early 1952, the Fender Bassman amplifier completed a brilliant new invention: the Fender Precision Bass guitar. With its 50 watts, it adapted without problem to the instruments commonly used at the time: brass, piano, small drums, possibly an electric guitar by a new 10 watt amp. In the 1990s, Fender marketed a cost-effective reissue of the Bassman 59, which was a great success. Many guitarists, tired of experimenting with preamps, EQs and effects racks, have rediscovered the simple pleasure of plugging into a Fender tube amp. The Bassman's extensive onstage reissue, touch-sensitive dynamics, and full-frequency swirls make it the perfect choice for creating a gorgeous tone with virtually any guitar and effect. It remains a flagship of the Fender line of guitar amps to this day.
