The Radial Komit is a compressor that simplifies the process of dynamic manipulation while developing sonic perspectives.
On the one hand, it is a very clean compressor which gives amazing results with a simple potentiometer.
Specification
On the other, an 'old-fashioned' limiter in clipping diodes that goes from 'vintage to nasty'. Although minimalist, the Komit offers exceptional flexibility by incorporating a series of automatic functions that are both musical and intuitive.
The design is of the 'feed-forward' type with VCA auto-detection which reads the incoming signals and reacts in 'real time'. The 3-position 'attack-decay' switch is set to SLOW for vocals, MEDIUM for instruments and FAST for percussion. By increasing the RATIO, the Komit's FlexKnee compression gradually adjusts the pivot point, seamlessly transitioning the soft / hard knee to achieve more natural results. Unlike most limiters which are designed to be transparent, the Clipper Komit brings personality to your recordings. The Clipper simulates the sound created by vintage circuits. They saturate the entrance when the levels exceed the headroom. Ten presets go from mild overtone overload to extremely nasty.
In order to ensure absolute signal integrity, 100% discrete components are used throughout the circuit, while the Hammond transformer provides some warmth. A variable level control provides additional gain (MAKEUP). Thanks to its large meter, it is easy to visualize the compression. The Komit can operate in full stereo, and when used with the Workhorse, the OMNIPORT is affected as a parallel compression element, de-esser, ducking, or any dynamic effect.
