The plate supports the handpan on a flat surface with a very small cross section.

The round backing disc acts as a sound mirror and reflects a certain frequency spectrum into the room.

This makes the stand ideal for playing on the floor with the full spectrum of sound. When playing on your knees, clothes always absorb some of the sound. The handpan rests on three points without pressure on the body, so no resonance is swallowed due to the tension. Fits all standard stoves.
