The Universal audio OX is a high-quality loadbox, combined with a guitar recording system, giving your favorite tube amp a studio-quality sound.
OX lets you use your tube amp at peak performance, from crisp, crunchy tones to the most severe overdrive, regardless of volume, with full mic, cabinet and room emulation , all this at your fingertips.
Equipped with the revolutionary UA Dynamic Speaker Modeling technology, OX is the first system to accurately model all the dynamic and timbral characteristics of the speakers, such as compression, resonance and even the saturation threshold of the diaphragm, setting it directly at the head of attenuators for loudspeakers and guitar amp recording systems.
Specification
OX Amp Top Box, a high-end product, is a reactive loadbox, i.e. a sound level attenuator that allows you to use a tube guitar amp with or without its cabinet. With OX, guitarists can play and record with the best settings of their amp: from clean sound to full blast, through to the limit of saturation or any other gain level. The settings of the amp and its gain are kept, and only the sound volume is attenuated.
In addition, OX has another output, with the signal from the real amp passing through authentic emulations of various cabinets, mics, studio room, and a processing chain for a definitive sound and worthy of being on an album.
OX is the first Universal Audio product to use the new Dynamic Speaker Modeling technology which is completely different from the use of impulse responses (IR) found in other products on the market. OX is able to recreate with authenticity the behavior of a cabinet cone pushed to its limits, with the harmonics that are generated, depending on the frequencies and the gain of the connected amp ('cone cry' phenomenon).
