In the V2 version of the BlueTube DP, we took as a basis the original Blue Tube and now the transistor circuit drives the XMAX class A microphone preamp for a range of 80 dB of gain. The tube circuit features a 12AX7 tube that operates on double voltages of preamps in its class, the result is more headroom and a big sound. We have made an assortment of other modifications to ensure that our BlueTube DP V2 offers less noise, more clarity at the top of the spectrum, and a smoother tube sound than its predecessor.
You still have the functions of a professional-grade preamp: 48V phantom power, an 80Hz high-pass filter, a -20dB pad to control the input signals, and a phase inverter. Each channel has a needle meter to visually monitor input levels.
The Tube Drive control offers a wide range of sounds: when it's OFF, you use the preamp for transparent and quiet amplification; In the ON position, signals flow through the tube circuit, and you get a whole host of tones ranging from silky warmth to gargantuan distortion.
Versatile and affordable
With two combo mic / instrument inputs, the half-rack format of the BlueTube DP v2 is an excellent choice for guitars and basses as well as for vocals. Singer-songwriters can pass their voice through one channel and the guitar through the other in order to be sounded live. It also serves as a DI box, thanks to the balanced XLR and unbalanced jack outputs, in its new robust 1 / 2U format with a sexier look. The BlueTube DP v2 is ideal for digital audio recording when paired with your audio interface.
