The MUSIC app
The MUSIC app puts all the important controls at your fingertips: audio volumes, faders and level measurement. With 10 inpus and 12 tracks, it's easy to record a large group. Mix, layer and enhance your recordings with EQ and compression. Connect to Zoom's Guitar Lab via USB to access an endless assortment of amps and effects.
The PODCAST app
The PODCAST app makes it easy to get high quality production. With the dedicated Sound Pads, use the touchscreen to trigger sound effects, background music and more. Choose from 13 high-quality sounds or load your own using an SD card.
The Podcast app allows you to use up to 4 microphones and two channels of Sound Pads.
The EXTERIOR app
The OUTDOOR app is ideal for onsite sound recording, sound design, conferences, and more. It gives you instant access to large meters for each track, guaranteeing you recordings without any saturation. Quickly set the input type, low cut filter, compression, limiter, noise gate and other essential parameters.
The microphone capsule
The H8 comes with the XYH-6 microphone. This capsule actually includes two matched high quality unidirectional mics, for capturing the signal directly in front of the recorder. You can easily change the capsule to always use the microphone best suited to the situation.
Mic Carousel insert
New generation capsule system. The Zoom 2.0 capsule system adds up to 4 audio channels to the H8 capsule connection, opening up new possibilities for expanding your recording capabilities.
XAH-8
The XAH-8 capsule gives impeccable stereo recordings. Easily rotate the capsules from a tight XY setup to a wide AB type layout to enhance the stereo image of your recordings.
VRH-8
The VRH-8 is an ambisonic mic capsule that uses four condenser microphones to provide immersive 360-degree audio recordings. An integrated accelerometer ensures that the capsule is always perfectly aligned, while the on-board ambisonic decoder automatically performs the necessary conversions, saving you time in post-production.
EXH-8
The EXH-8 capsule provides 4 additional XLR inputs, for a total of 10 inputs. Each additional input has its own gain knob and attenuation switch. You can even use your favorite condenser microphones - just plug a power source into the EXH-8 capsule to provide them with phantom power.
Remote control
You can monitor the level meters and control the REC, PLAY and STOP keys in each application mode of the H8. Just insert the BTA-1 into your H8 and connect it to your iOS device.

Entrances and exits
The H8 offers 4 XLR inputs each with its own attenuation switch and gain control. 2 additional XLR / TRS combo jacks with selectors for high impedance (Hi-Z) allow you to capture line-level signals, microphones, or directly record electric guitars and basses.
Monitor tracks with the built-in 3.5mm mini-plug headphone output or connect directly to your camera using the dedicated stereo line output.
Multi-channel audio interface
The H8 is a powerful USB audio interface. Connect by USB to your PC, Mac, iPad or tablet to record up to 12 channels simultaneously.
File format and recording time
Get over 20 hours of recording time with just 4 AA batteries. Or record without limits with the optional AD-17 adapter.
The H6 records WAV, BWF compatible, and MP3 files in any of the following formats:
